How do I make an appointment and is a referral necessary?
You can make an appointment by reaching out via ekardon@empoweredvoicetherapy.com and we will schedule a phone call. You can also click the links around the website that say “book now” and it will lead you to a form to fill out. A referral is not necessary.
How long and how often is therapy?
Therapy is tailored to your specific needs. Generally, sessions are about 50 minutes, but some couples prefer slightly longer sessions as there are more individuals in the room. I generally meet with clients weekly until a collaborative decision has been made to reduce sessions to bi-monthly. As everyone is at a different point in their therapeutic journey, I cannot quantify a specific number of sessions outside of relationship check-ins/ pre-marital work. Those are generally three sessions with the option to extend into regular couples therapy.
Do you take insurance? What are your fees?
I do not accept insurance or third-party billing at this time. Please look at my fee structure on the fees page, but also be aware that I do set aside some sliding scale spots between $50-$75 based on financial need.
Are you back to having in-person sessions?
Yes! My office is allowing in-person sessions in accordance with the most up-to-date CDC guidelines. However, I am also offering online therapy for anyone who feels uncomfortable coming to the office at this time.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
I understand that life happens and sometimes you’ll need to cancel. However, barring an emergency, if the session is not canceled within 24 hours, you will be charged for the missed session. I advocate for boundary-setting, so I want to practice what I preach!
